Appointment of new Deputy Executive Editor-in-Chief

On behalf of the Editorial Board, journal Editors, and staff of the North African Journal of Food and Nutrition Research (NAJFNR), we are pleased to announce that Professor Prosper Chopera has agreed to serve as the Deputy Executive Editor-in-Chief for a three-year term effective September 30, 2024.

 

As the former Associate Section-Editor  Pr. Prosper Chopera has long been a dedicated supporter of the NAJFNR. In her capacity as Deputy Executive Editor-in-Chief, Pr. Chopera will:

  • Support the Editors-in-Chief in their duties by providing advice, recommending or assessing potential editorial appointments, contributing to the strategic development of the journals, and representing the Executive Editor-in-Chief at events as needed;
  • Uphold the ethics and values associated with scholarly publishing;
  • Promote the NAJFNR, working to develop and maintain its high-quality reputation;
  • Lead various special projects and activities that support the above responsibilities or that contribute to the advancement of the NAJFNR strategic goals or to the scholarly community in general.

 

P. Chopera,

Prosper Chopera is a dedicated researcher and Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, with a strong focus on public health nutrition. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Health Nutrition (2008-2016) and an MSc in Nutrition and Health from Wageningen University & Research. With expertise in health promotion, data analysis, research, SPSS, and program evaluation, she has established herself as a prominent scientist in Zimbabwe. Prosper has published several papers in prestigious, high-ranked journals, contributing significantly to the field of nutrition and public health.

 

The Board look forward to the next phase of NAJFNR's evolution, which will build on the strong accomplishments of this new team and their editorial members.
